How Homeview handles your calendar.

Homeview is a personal household dashboard. Its Google Calendar connection is used only to show events on a private, household-network display.

Information accessed and purpose

After the calendar owner grants permission, Homeview requests the calendar.events.readonly scope. It reads event titles, dates and times, descriptions, locations, and event links from the selected Google Calendar so the household can view its agenda, month calendar, and event details. Homeview does not create, change, or delete calendar events.

Where information goes

The Homeview server requests events from the Google Calendar API and sends the display details to devices that can access the private household dashboard. The public pages at this domain do not fetch or display calendar events. Homeview does not sell calendar information or send it to advertisers, analytics services, weather providers, or sports providers.

Storage and retention

Google OAuth credentials are held in the server’s private deployment configuration. Access tokens and calendar caches stay in server memory; calendar events are refreshed about every two minutes. If Google becomes unavailable, the last successful calendar data can remain in memory for up to six hours before it expires. Restarting the service clears that memory. Calendar credentials and event data are not saved in the browser’s local storage, and calendar API responses are marked not to be cached by the browser.

Control and removal

The calendar owner can revoke Homeview’s access in Google Account connections. Removing the OAuth values from the private deployment configuration and restarting the Homeview service disconnects it and clears its in-memory cache. Events remain in Google Calendar until the owner changes them there.

Other data

Homeview fetches approximate local weather from Open-Meteo and public team schedules from ESPN. Those requests do not include Google Calendar event details. The dashboard stores only a theme choice and timer deadline in browser storage. It has no advertising or analytics service.
